Introduction of the Designation Program for Outstanding Crafts

우수공예품 지정제도 로고

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) and Korea Craft & Design Foundation (KCDF) identify and support outstanding craftwork that represent Korea. MCST and KCDF also organized and implemented the Designation Program for Outstanding Crafts to pursue quality improvement of Korea’s craft products and to build consumer trust.

Validity Period

3 years since designation

Support for Designated Products

  • Certificate of Designated Outstanding Crafts by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism
  • Selected for K-ribbon designated by the MCST
  • Support in entering and distribution of products into KCDF shops
    - including KCDF Shops, Handicraft-Nuri, the Cheongwadae (the Blue House) Sarangchae gift shop, KCDF online shop, and others

  • Support in applying for intellectual property rights (application for design registration or copyright) on the designated craftworks
  • Support in entering exhibitions held by KCDF to promote sales and secure market
